Eldorado Fender Trike

sideview

Gary VanderPol of South Dakota built this beauty in just 3 months! In the winter months of 2006-07, Vanderpol completed the wonderfully running, room for a grandkid or two, award-winning Trike. He took the tail end of a 59 Eldorado, like Tj has done for Road Rocket (a pewter of which Vanderpol has, of course) and narrowed it by a full foot. The front end is all Harley Davidson, with a late model Northstar engine. He wanted to leave more of the fender from the Eldorado, but the trike already pushes the limits on length. Vanderpol had been dreaming about this design for the better part of a decade, and did all but the painting on the trike himself. In the past, Vanderpol has restored airplanes from the 1950's and worked on restoration projects on many cars. This is a private hobby of his, and though he thought this would be his last big project, he's already placed ads looking for more cars and bikes to create another trike for 2008! We look forward to seeing it!
