Unforgiveness |
Probably the single most
inexcusable infringement on our spiritual condition is holding a
grudge against someone. The presence of our desire to see that individual harmed is an
insidious evil.
It floats about in our consciousness and is barely noticeable.
We can go for years
with hardly a thought of the original infraction, then suddenly it is there before us
with fangs,
seeking blood.
What is unforgivable to you?
Time heals all wounds.
Is this true?
Here we are as forgiven
souls
with a free pass to eternal
life and we hold something against another soul? These
festering situations can
lead to bitterness. Bitterness
will make us actually look ugly over
time, and so change our life that few will take pleasure in our presence.
Have you been wronged? Let it be known …………..and then let it go.
It is not worth the
distance it puts between you and a compassionate God.
Consider this story ending:
'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
Shouldn't you have had
mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'
In anger his master turned him over
to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother
from your heart.“
(Mathew 32- 35)
